After Squid Game, All Of Us Are Dead Leaves Viewers Speechless. Here’s Some Interesting Facts!

Those of us who weren’t privy to the k-dramas phenomenon got a good taste of it when Squid Game was released. The world was collectively fawning over the boldness and the presentation of something so vile and unimaginable. Just when we had finally stomached it, K-zombie series All Of Us Are Dead dropped and took it to a whole new level. 

For the uninitiated, All Of Us Are Dead is a Zombie drama that unfolds in Hyosan High school where a virus outbreak leads to mass destruction where the students rapidly turn into zombies and attack each other. It’s gory and extremely graphic and not for the faint-hearted.

One thing is for sure, once you start there is no going back until you reach the end. Now, this highly acclaimed show has impressed everyone so much that most of us are anticipating another season of it in the near future.

1. There are many series and films about zombies produced by South Korea, but All of Us Are Dead is said to have a variety of zombies which are many times more powerful.

2. This series is based on a webtoon and it follows the story of Hyosan High School students who are trapped inside a zombie-infested campus.

3. Even though the series is based in a high school, there is only one actress who is actually still in school, Park Ji Hu who plays On-Ju on the show. The erratic shooting schedules made the actress change back and forth in school uniforms.

4. In a bid to make everything look realistic, the cast members’ had to take choreography lessons apart from martial arts training, especially the Zombie actors.

These side characters weren’t just hired to act like zombies, but they were trained to do a special choreograph to synchronize their moves and make it look synchronized. 

5. The high school building that the viewers saw in All of Us Are Dead does not exist in real life and was only constructed for the series.

In the behind-the-scenes video released by The Swoon, director Lee Jae Gyu revealed that the production team had to build a set from scratch in a 100-meter long four-story building.

6. The characters Nam-ra and Su-hyeok’s relationship was seen building up since the very first episode of the series. By episode seven, things finally come to a head when Su-Hyeok admitted that he had feelings for the class president.

Turns out that she reciprocated the feeling, and the two shared a heartwarming first kiss in the hell hole of death that their high school had become.

7. There’s a possibility of season 2. According to the director, “If the first season can be seen as having presented humanity’s survival, the next season can talk about the survival of zombies. I hope to present viewers with another season.”
