Spider-Man’s Andrew Garfield May Have Cracked No Way Home’s Fake Butt Case

Spider-Man: No Way Home star Andrew Garfield weighs in on the news that one of the film's stars wore a fake butt in their suit.

The case of Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s fake butt may have just been cracked wide open.

“Yeah, I heard this,” Andrew Garfield said when asked about the news that one of No Way Home‘s three Spider-Man actors apparently had a fake butt in their suit. “Well, I have no idea. It’s not me, so I have no clue. I don’t wanna — I don’t know, I assumed everyone’s butts were — their butts.” When pressed on whether it was Tobey Maguire with the padded posterior, Garfield was quick to butt in, saying, “No, I don’t think it was Tobey. I’ve seen Tobey’s butt. Tobey’s got back.”

Few, if any Spider-Man fans likely questioned whether one of No Way Home‘s Spideys had a fake butt until Tom Holland recently floated the notion. “I’ll give you a spoiler, and I’m not going to tell you who, but one of us has a fake ass in their suit,” he said. “You can figure out that for yourselves.” Garfield has now denied that it’s him or Maguire, while Holland has never actually gone on the record to absolve himself from being the one to bear a bogus backside.

Rather than focusing on Spider-Man’s behind, Marvel fans are eagerly looking forward to the future of the franchise, though it’s still not entirely clear what the future holds. A new Spider-Man trilogy was announced in November 2021, but Holland has played coy about what sort of role he’ll play in those films. Meanwhile, rumors point to Garfield reprising his role following his return in No Way Home, despite the actor vehemently claiming his time as Peter Parker is done. “No plans, that’s the truth,” he said before readily admitting that after his pre-No Way Home press, he doesn’t expect anyone to believe him. “Everyone’s gonna call me a liar for the rest of my life. I’m the boy who cried wolf.”

Spider-Man: No Way Home is now in theaters. The film swings onto Digital on Tuesday, March 22 and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday, April 12.
